If we identify any issues or defects during the building or pest inspection, you are welcome to speak with your inspector to explain the issues and consequences if these issues go untreated.

Because all of our pre-purchase building and pest inspections are written to Australian and Industry standard, if significant issues are identified and you have building and pest as a clause in your contract, you can terminate or renegotiate the purchase price. If this happens, you should contact your conveyancer or solicitors for advice.

When you have your contract in place, your inspection should coincide with your settlement requirements.

Not as much as you might think. Given that your house or investment property is likely to be your most significant investment, a thorough building and pest inspection is cheap when you consider the tens of thousands of dollars you might need to pay for repairs from termite or unseen issues with the property. Structural concerns might also generate significant financial stress. The repercussions of not having an inspection far outweigh any expense concerns about conducting a full building and pest assessment before purchasing.

The duration of a building and pest inspection is determined by the size of your property and the state of the residence. For example, our comprehensive inspection will take longer for a 3 or 4 bedroom house compared to a 2 bedroom unit. The time taken is also determined by our ability to access the roof and underneath your home. It will most likely take about two to three hours for an average-sized house.
